FRACTIONS ARE SMALL, EQUALLY SIZED PARTS OF A WHOLE

Fractional Humanity is an anonymous photography project aimed at sharing and preserving small, authentic parts of human existence through polaroid images.

Each image represents a small fraction of human life - a person, place, or object captured at a specific time in a random location around the world. As each photo is a polaroid, there is no editing or retouching. Each image is hidden in the location where it was taken for a collector to find and (hopefully) look after as the project continues to unfold. If the physical version is lost or damaged, the on-chain version will serve as both verification and perpetual digital representation of the image.

Through these pictures, we hope to promote awareness, sharing and understanding of the human existence from all walks of life - the busy crossing in the centre of a bustling city, the gas station in the middle of nowhere, the shopkeeper selling fruit, the businessman setting off for work - all these seemingly insignificant moments collectively form a representation of what it means to be human in today’s complex world.

Even though fractions are usually small pieces, when collected and combined they add up to form a whole - in this case a real representation of our human existence.

Welcome to Fractional Humanity.
